after that museum we headed to buy theater tickets. we are going to see Wicked on Westend tomorrow (londons broadway) and we expected to pay 30 pounds... well, we got an amazing deal for only 19.50 pounds! so cool. then we ate pizza from a little street vendor that was soooo good!
then we met up with the group again and headed to yet another museum, the National Gallery. it was so cool and what can i say, but to use the word amazing again (i will use that a lot, just get used to it:) ) anyway, we got to see original works that are every artists dream to see, such as Renoir "boating on the seine", Monet "the water lily pond", Van gogh "sunflowers", Da Vinci "virgin on the rocks", Michelangelo "the entombment", and Botticelli "Venus and mars". it was great to see all those original works!
by this point, as cool as it was to see all that, i was all museumed out! but luckily, i wen through both of the museums with my friends kate and Lerium and they are quick and efficient. we saw what we wanted and got out of there. since the Gallery was practically IN trafalgars square, we went out and took some fun and cute pictures:)
after meeting up with everyone at 4:00pm, we then walked and took the undergroud to St Pauls Cathedral... no this is where it gets real good!!!!! my day was amazing up until this and i was so tired, i could have taken or left going to evensong there, but going was the best decision i could have made!!! You guys, this place was awesome... there is no other way to describe it!!! i have never been so awe-struck by any building in my entire life. the enormity and splendor of it was amazing. It must for sure make your top list of things to see before you die! We sat right directly under the dome and it was indescribable! i was not allowed to take any photos, but you will just have to trust me when i say, you wont regret taking time to see it in london! i did however get a bad picture of the side of the building before entering. in a way, i am glad i didnt take pictures, cause it wouldnt have done it justice... you just have to see it, ok.
well, after that we were pooped! we hoped on the train and came back to oxford. we all fell asleep on the ride home. it was a good day in london and i am going back tomorrow, but It was nice to get to come back to small, peaceful and calm Oxford at the end of the day.
as they say in England, cheers:)
