A lot to catch you up on...

Boy, its been a while, sorry! I guess the business of my life finally has caught up to me. Well, this is what you missed...

I am in my fourth week of my L-A-S-T school semester! Can you believe I'm almost done?! I have senioritis so badly and I know I can finish strong, I just need to get motivated.

I have a new job now, I think most of you surly know by now. I am the Administrative Honors Coordinator for the Honors college. I work almost full-time, about 35 hours a week and then come June 1, I star a salaried position which will really be a great thing for me not having to worry about that. Next month we will be moving to a new office. I am very excited because instead of sharing a big (well, not even big, just regular sized room) with two other desks, they are now giving me my own big office with a window. The office is about the size of my bedroom! Im just super excited!

On the 19th, we had MLK day which was a great little break from school and work, unfortunately for me, About 11pm, Some sort of nasty head/sinus infection made me feel really sick. I tried to go to school and some of work on Tuesday, but I didn't make it very far. I came home so sick and slept all day. By wed. i had NO energy at all and I felt sicker than I have in years. Kyle, Kearby and ABi were all convinced that I needed to go see the urgent care doctor, so we went in and it was a good thing, cause my temp was 104!!! and then they gave me heavy antibiotics and the best part was a got 2 shots in my bum:) I missed all day thursday and then had a partial day on friday. I felt much better, but it was a good idea for me to take things slow.

Our family had our new little addition enter the world on January 23rd. Evan David Martin was born in Uganda. He's so beautiful and I was so happy that Mandie got to be there for the birth and spend time with Anaiah and the whole clan. I cant wait to meet him!!!

We celebrated Abi's birthday shortly after school got started, january 25th. We all went out to a great lunch Sunday afternoon after church at Olive Garden. She's 25 now! I can't believe it! I painted her some watercolors for her house. It was just a fun, relaxing time together.

Then, lets see, we went to school that next day, monday and then monday night it started freezing, snowing, icing, hailing... you name it, Abilene did it! So anyway, Kyle said "we wont have school tomorrow", and being like my dad, I said, "are you kidding?, It will all be gone tomorrow!" Well, Kyle was right and the school canceled for all of tuesday. So my roommate, Kyle and I laid around and watched movies in our PJ's. Then Kyle and I hung out at his apartment the whole evening. He made me dinner, it was very sweet AND good (he's been holding out on me... he can cook! haha). So then, just as he was getting ready to take me home, so he could do his homework, he got a text from ACU police saying we had a late start until 10am in the morning. We were so excited and Kyle decided with the late start, there was no need to do his homework, so we went and got another movie and kept doing wonderful nothing! And then we even got a later start in the end. we didn't start until 1pm. I am not counting on anymore of those wonderful snow days, but I was so grateful for them! and they were amazing while they lasted.

Kyle and I had our 1st year dating anniversary on tuesday the 3rd. We didn't do too much, we went to red lobster, but its just been a really busy week with my art show and all of Kyle and I's tests, but we tried to do a little something to spend time together. We are planning to do something fun like an out-of-town date when we either go see another law school or go to his home sometime soon. He brought flowers to me and work on our anniversary and they really brighten up my desk:) I am so happy, WE are so happy.

Lets see, then I guess I need to tell you about my art show. I had my Senior Art show this last friday and it went amazingly! I don't know that I have ever been to a senior opening that had that many guests... it was packed! I was able to showcase 7 of my pieces, paintings, designs, photos and drawings. We all had a professor of our choice speak for us and I chose Dan, the professor I spent 7 weeks with in Europe this past summer. He was very kind and said some very sweet things about me that I appreciate very much! The whole week of the show was insane! We were at the gallery every night decorating, hanging pieces and preparing food... I had very little sleep last week, but I am very proud of all we accomplished.

One of the most exciting little events that happened was to do with one of my photos. Many of you have said that your favorite photo I took in Europe was "majestic Rays", Well I took a shot at the Oregon photo competition and entered it a few months ago. I guess it was last week, I found out that not only did I make the semi-finals of the top 100, but they wrote to say that I was awarded in the top 10! I was so excited and surprised! They sent me a beautiful, large, framed picture for my house.

Kyle's is still plugin' away at law school stuff. He will be taking the LSAT here in about 3 1/2 months or so. We are both busy now looking for a good school for him. We have been to visit UT Austin and he will be going to visit Pepperdine at spring break. We are hoping to get to make a few trips together to various choices in the coming months, like San Antonio, Salt Lake City and maybe even D.C... We'll see. Im very proud of him! If you could, pray for him and all he has on his plate right now, he's working really hard and at times, MOST times, it can be stressful.

Yesterday, saturday the 7th Jacob's turned 22. We threw him a surprise party and were VERY successful! It was a lot of fun and he had no idea! Jacob, Sarah (his girlfriend), Kyle and I all dressed up and went to dinner to celebrate and then we went back to my house to "watch a movie' and have a "low-key" night, little did he know, that meant with another 16 people:) It was very fun!

Well, there's what you missed in a nutshell, I hope I didn't leave anything out:) If I did, oh well, It was too long anyway!:)
